Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Students,

You are a unique and talented mix of students who have come to us from a variety of cultures. We are thrilled you are all here.

First of all as a new Principal, I would like to introduce myself. I have been in Australia since 2001. I did my Masters Degree at Swinburne University in Internet Software Development then started a Graduate Diploma of Education in Monash in 2003 and finished it in 2005. I am married and I have two lovely kids in primary and secondary school. I came from Turkey. My mother town is Ankara. Back in Turkey I graduated from the Electric and Electronic Engineering Department at Kirikkale University. I was a Deputy Principal at Sirius College Keysborough Campus and worked there for 8 years in different capacities. I am proud of being here and serving you.

Dear students, in the coming days and weeks, you will start building lifelong friendships; you began classes and you will start to explore ways to fill out your days and evenings - the less tangible part of your education here - the student experience. Aside from the outstanding education you will receive at Sirius, I can tell you from my personal experience that for Sirius graduates, it is overwhelmingly the student experience that stays with us the longest. In addition, we have a proud tradition of our students working and volunteering in and around the campus and then moving on with great professional and personal success in serving their communities and country for the betterment of our society - you have this potential too.

The students from the Meadow Fair campus are doing very well in VCE. There is a tradition in which every year a student achieves a perfect score and there were two perfect scores last year alone. It was an amazing accomplishment and I want this success to continue this year and in the future.

Being a Principal comes with a lot of responsibilities and I will do my best to serve my community. I would like to finish with one of the best scholar’s sayings. He says that being a manager is like being a servant. My duty is to serve to you.

Have a wonderful educational year and I wish you well as you strive for the best VCE results in the state.
